For this course you do need some basic knowledge of dressmaking, seaming and fitting, but by picking your project you will develop and improve your skills over the weeks.
This is a group of multi-skilled people who support each other in areas such as crochet, card making, knitting and many other skills. We aim to enhance your skills by producing items for your own use and to sell on for charity groups.
We cover all aspects of crochet, from the very basics, to reading a pattern and understanding new stitches, we are also a very social and supportive group. We have a tutor on one session each month
This is a self-directing group who work with all forms of art and paints. There is no formal tuition but instead a very approachable and friendly group of people who will be delighted to help develop your skills.
This is mixed ability group who have the love of oil painting in common. It would be helpful if you have the basics but with the skills and enthusiasm around you, you will be able to develop your skills and confidence.
This group meets every two weeks. Polymer clay is a man-made substance that can be baked in an ordinary oven so opening up many possibilities for the average student. It can make jewellery, figurines, animals, small bowls as well as a variety of other applications…
We have a large well equipped woodworking workshop where you can undertake your own projects, help create small goods that we sell on to support the Centre and on occasions undertake small repairs.
This group paint from life, using models, there is no formal teaching, but all the members are so skilled and friendly they will guide you to new heights of skill.
