We are pleased to announce that Hill Farm Academy can offer 15 and 30 hour places in our vibrant and inviting Nursery.

 Why choose us?

  • Hill Farm Nursery is a part of Hill Farm Primary School which means that our children are taught by a fully qualified Teacher with the support of a very experienced Nursery Nurse and Teaching Assistant.
  • Ofsted has judged the Early Years Foundation Stage as GOOD. Ofsted reported that:

“Children in the early years are taught and cared for well. The Nursery and Reception classrooms provide children with a vibrant learning environment. Resources are easily accessible and well-chosen to stimulate the children’s interest. Activities, both indoors and outside, contribute well to children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development”

  • Our warm and welcoming staff introduce our children to learning in a play-based environment that suits their needs and various learning styles. We both educate and nurture our children to meet their highest potential in readiness for their school experience.
  • Learning takes place both indoors and outdoors, in a stimulating environment shaped by the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Our inviting outdoor area includes a sand and water area, a mud kitchen and an adventure playground for the children to explore. We also have our own entrance for easy access to the setting.
  • We are able to offer 15 hour morning or afternoon sessions (Monday to Friday, from 8:30-11:30am or 12:30-3:30pm)
  • Our Nursery and Reception classes work closely together to foster a smooth transition into the school.

Is your child eligible?

All families with a 3 or 4 year old child are eligible for the universal offer of free early education of up to 15 hours a week.

We offer places from the start of the school term after a child’s third birthday until they are school age. If your child is 3 before January 1st they can join us after Christmas. If your child is 3 between January and Easter they can join us in the summer term.

In Coventry, children can attend a nursery class attached to a primary school the September after their third birthday ( some schools offer termly intakes in Autumn, Spring and Summer  - please ask the school for details).

Some nursery classes may offer places to 2 year olds/rising 3's so please contact your preferred schools to check

Nursery classes/school do not have a catchment area this is because not all schools in the city have a nursery class attached to them and some parents choose not to send their child to a preschool setting.

How to apply for a nursery class place

It is advisable to contact your preferred nursery class at least a year before your child will start. Parents/carers need to be aware that it does not matter how early an application is submitted, the place will be allocated against the school's selection criteria.

To apply for a nursery class/school place parents/carers must contact their preferred nursery class/school directly - admission to nursery class is not dealt with by the schools admissions team .

Parents/carers will be given a form to complete and information about how selection for a nursery class/school place is made at their preferred school. It is important for parents/carers to understand that although there is no catchment area for nursery classes; due to the high level of demand for spaces, schools will have their own selection criteria which will differ at each school.

If you are unsuccessful in securing a place, do not contact the school's admissions department as they have no input into nursery class/school allocation of places.

IMPORTANT : Attending a nursery class at a specific school does not guarantee a place at the reception class at the same school.
