We are a flourishing playgroup in the North East of Coventry, we are 3 miles from the City Centre.
For those not eligible for the 2 year old funding, we do offer families that have to pay for sessions that they have can have one session pr week. This can be a 9am-3pm or a 9am-12pm or 12:15-3:15pm. Sessions are currently £14.00 for a 3 hour session (price increase in January 2022) an additional donation is requested for cleaning and snack which is currently £1.50 per week (for 15 hours and under) and £3,00 per week for (15 hours and over).
We have a wide variety of experience within the staff team and we have previously supported children and family’s with physical needs e.g. mobility, asthma, visual and hearing loss. We have years of experience of providing food and activities for children with dietary needs and all staff are trained by the Food Standards Agency this has helped improve our knowledge and support those with food allergies and intolerances. We can cater for those with cultural or medical allergies. We have staff who are trained to administer an epi-pen.We actively encourage parents to engage with their children's learning by involving them in curriculum by volunteering or sharing their culture by telling stories, cooking.
We encourage parents to share information about their employment; we have annual visits from those that are nurses, police and fire station. We make the most of community facilities and use the buses to get to the library, with the children, we have a walk to Stoke Floods and our use the local shops. We have local visits from Brandon Marsh, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, where a member of staff from the Trust brings fun outdoor activities for our children to take part in and visits from our friends at South Warwickshire Active Families (Free). We are hoping to return to all these opportunities in the forthcoming academic year.
We actively support parents with children with SEND needs. We have a wide range of experiences of children that have Special Educational and Disability Needs diagnosis and this includes those that have traits of Autism or a diagnosis and those that have complex behaviour needs. Cherubs is an inclusive setting that welcome everyone.
We have a large outside play area that children access daily, we have playhouses, bats, ball, mud kitchen, water play, bikes and scooters.
We are also available to offer a soft play experience, at Cherubs.
To support the relationship between home and Cherubs we offer three parents meetings a year, this provides an opportunity for the key person and parents to have some quality time building a three-way relationship.
We have developed good working relationships with many of the local primary schools, we have regular meetings and can arrange additional support for children with special educational needs (SEND).
We have links with local Family Hub, so we can access information about current support available to families in the area.
We have also arranged Speech and Language Workshops and Positive Parenting Programmes, provided workshops on how to do phonics and support your child with maths.
The manager has qualified in a BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies at Warwick University and has a qualification in parent facilitating and NVQ in Leadership and Management. The deputy is a qualified teacher and works primarily with the three to four olds. All staff hold a relevant childcare qualification and hold a Paediatric First Aid Qualification, which is renewed every three years.
At Cherubs, we are committed to Safeguarding children and work closely with other organisations to ensure that the child is at the centre of any safeguarding concern. Safeguarding training happens regularly in-house and by other training providers.
All adults working and having regular contact with the children have the Enhanced DBS all students and apprentices are mentored and supervised throughout.

When you visit, please come to the white doors. Where we will be happy to show you around and talk to you.
We request a £1.50 a contribution for snacks, that we then purchase for the children.
We offer freshly cooked hot and cold food on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday your child can either bring in a healthy packed lunch or for £2.00 a hot or cold lunch can be provided (at least ones days notice to provide).
Additional charges will be requested if we have an outside company's visit Cherubs. Previously we have had visits from a Mini first aid who taught in a fun, playful way, age appropriate first aid. We have also had visits from Zoolab who bring in a range of animals and the children learn all about the animals and how to care for them.

- Fees are paid monthly and by arrangement with the manager can be paid weekly or monthly via bank transfer (BACS) or cash. AM/PM Sessions are for 3 hours. We request a £1.50 per session or £3.00 per day contribution for snacks, tissues and wipes per session attended. There is a £4.00 additional for any child collected after their agreed finishing time and to cover lunches of those children who are not eligible for the 30 hours funding. Freshly prepared hot or cold meal available at a charge of £3.00 per meal.
