What's Volunteering?
It’s about giving your time to do something useful. In return you get the satisfaction of time and effort well spent.
In addition, volunteering can be a great way to meet new people learn new skills and gain useful experience.
The range of opportunities are huge. Whatever skills and experience you have, there is something that you can do to help. Here at FWT we do ask for a minimum of 3 months commitment.
We particularly need volunteers with skills in the following areas:
- Language and translation skills
- Outreach support workers
- IT tutors
- Arts
- Crafts
- Beauty
- Fund raising
- Marketing and promotion
- Business development
- Administration and office work
Language Volunteers
We are looking for women to work with us on our Cervical Screening Project – supporting ethnic minority women to access screening services. Volunteers must speak good English and another language, for example:
- Polish
- Romanian
- Bengali
- Kurdish
- Arabic
- Tamil
