WaterSure can help you if your income is low and you use a lot of water, which makes managing your account and payments difficult.

Capping your bill

If your application to join the scheme is successful, we can make sure your bill is capped. That way, managing your account and bills will be easier.

How do I qualify?

The scheme is for customers on a water meter receiving benefits, and either have three or more children under 19 years old, or with a medical condition requiring extra use of water. You also will need to be currently paying more than £333 a year for your water. Applicants can provide a letter from their GP to confirm a medical condition requires them to use a lot of water.

If you receive any of the following benefits, you may be able to participate in the WaterSure scheme:

  • Income Support
  • Income based jobseekers allowance
  • Housing benefit
  • Universal credit*
  • Pension credit
  • Working tax credit
  • Child tax credit (other than the basic element)
  • Income related employment and support allowance
