Barnardo's Coventry and Warwickshire Children's Rights Project
Supporting Children's Rights and Advocacy in the Coventry and Warwickshire area.
This is a free advocacy service for young people who are in care, have left care or are in contact with childrens services for other reasons.Anyone can refer for an advocate with the child’s consent, via an online form here https://www.barnardos.org.uk/what-we-do/services/coventry-and-warwickshire-childrens-rights service/coventry_and_warwickshire_children_s_rights_service_professional_referral_form or by phone on 02476372596
Barnardo's Children's Rights Service includes an Independent Visitor service for Looked After Children with Coventry or Warwickshire Children's Services.
Referrals are made by the young person's Social Worker with the young persons' consent.
Independent Visitors (IV's) are volunteers fully trained by Barnardo's to work with some of the most vulnerable children in society. The IV's are matched to a young person with similar interests and will take them out once a month. These visits give the child or young person an opportunity to talk to someone, be listened to, build a trusting, supportive and stable relationship.
They will also be having a lot of fun together
(If you feel you could become an Independent Visitor please email Coventry&warwickshireCRS@barnardo’s.org.uk for an application pack)
