Voluntary Action Coventry
Voluntary Action Coventry is a local infrastructure organisation that supports the voluntary and community sector in the city. Founded in 1957, it is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. Membership of Voluntary Action Coventry is open to all voluntary and community groups within the City.
We offer a range of services and activities that support the vibrant and diverse Third sector in Coventry. We seek new projects and participate in initiatives that compliment and enhance the achievement of our core aims and that meet the needs of our members.
Membership of Voluntary Action Coventry is free.
Mission Statement
Voluntary Action Coventry is an advocate for voluntary and community groups, helping to develop effective and diverse communities in the City. Through the provision of support, training and information, we promote good practice and encourage social inclusion. We promote, facilitate and develop volunteering in Coventry and recognise the contribution of individuals and volunteers to communities.
Aims
- To prepare and support the third sector to respond to decreasing resources and changes in policy
- To understand and meet the support needs of new and emerging voluntary and community organisations in Coventry
- To champion volunteering and encourage a culture of social responsibility in Coventry
- To build a strong and sustainable organisation
