Wendy Peat

Hi, I am an 'Outstanding ' qualified childcare practitioner and have worked in childcare for the past 20 years , I have achieved an outstanding in all areas grading for my past 2 inspections which I am very proud of.

Since I have had my own children I decided I would like to work for myself and have been childminding since 2003. I pride myself in offering children a continuity of care as close to their own home environment as possible so they feel " part of the family".

I have 2 teenager sons and as a working parent I understand many of problems associated with daycare and hope that the services I provide avoid some of the difficulties normally encountered.

I offer creative play and fun for up to 3 children in a family environment which is full of fun and always inviting. We have a seperate " child - friendly " well equipped play room with most of the toy boxes at the children's level so the children are encouraged to make appropriate choices.

The children use the whole of the downstairs space and the conservatory leads into our garden which is mainly a decked or patio area which means we can use the garden in all weathers. Our large ,safe garden has a great selection of toys and games and a fantastic log cabin which the children love playing in.

The children enjoy getting their hands dirty planting flowers and vegetables. My house backs on to Hearsall woods and we love exploring especially in our wellies.

I am very lucky to have my mum help me out at least one day a week, she really enjoys it and all the children call her Granny !

My aim is to help children build a foundation for life - by developing confidence, inquisitive and enquiring minds and good social skills utilising a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities. All the children "Play to learn and Learn to play".

I always keep the parents involved and informed of their child's progress and achievements.I take lots of photos which I send using whatsAp to the parents so they do not miss out on our fun !! and is also a great way of sharing information.

I have an excellent relationship with all my parents,it is a 3 way partnership and they are always encouraged to pop in for a coffee to discuss any issues, concerns or just a chat !

My provision meets all the Ofsted required safety and due diligence standards for childminder registration and I have full public liability for peace of mind.

We have recently re-homed a really friendly bearded collie dog, who all the children adore but any contact the children do have is always supervised.
